Saying Good-bye

Writer's picture: Liz HarlanLiz Harlan

Here we are - at the end of 1 Peter. I will be working on 2 Peter next, but I will be moving this to Substack for future posts. I am attempting to clean up this website a bit and decided this Bible study posting deserves its own place. Then the site will be dedicated to autism and my children's books.

In the interest of time for today as things have gotten hairy around here, I am only going to do the TEND method today. If I have time over the weekend, I will tackle the verse mapping.

1 Peter 5:12-14

Take Time to Pray

Psalm 145:10-13a

10 All You have made will praise You,

O LORD;

Your saints will extol You.

11 They will tell of the glory of Your

kingdom

and speak of Your might,

12 so that all me may know of Your

mighty acts

and the glorious splendor of Your

kingdom.

13 Your kingdom is an everlasting

kingdom,

and Your dominion endures through

all generations.

Examine

12 With the help of Silas, whom I regard as a faithful brother, I have written to you briefly, encouraging you and testifying that this is the true grace of God. Stand fast in it.

13 She who is in Babylon, chosen together with you, sends you her greetings, and so does my son Mark. 14 Greet one another with a kiss of love.

Peace to all of you who are in Christ.

Notice

What do you notice about God's character?

  • God is true grace.

  • God is peace.

What lessons are being taught? Is there a sin, promise, action, command or example being taught? Is there a warning being given?

  • It is important for us to keep in touch with each other and to encourage each other.

  • We must stand fast in our faith.

  • Christ brings peace to our lives.

  • We need to help others including those with disabilities.

Do

Consider how you need to respond to what God is teaching you.

Question

  • Who can I encourage today?

Response

  • I am not going to name anyone, but I know who I am going to encourage.
